Dear Friends:

I lost my left eye well over 40 years ago. I was a baby (and am now 47). I have never known what it was to be two-eye sighted. Since I've never been able to see with two eyes, I've never known what I was missing; to see with only one eye has just been "the way it is".

I don't feel that it has impacted my life in any bad way. I've always had friends, boyfriends, and even two husbands. People just don't seem to care; it's just a part of who I am and doesn't affect a relationship. If people care about you and are worthy of getting to know, they won't care if someone only has one eye.

If they are bothered by it, then they must be pretty shallow and I don't really want to know them anyway! That's my story; I don't know if it will help anyone, but if it does, then I'm glad to share my story.

Liz
