Taylor's Story

My son Taylor is 6 years old.  In September of 1999 he lost his right eye while riding behind a four-wheeler.

He was pulling a sled with a piece of rope.  The rope snapped  while Taylor was watching and it hit him in the center of his eye.

He was just starting kindergarten and in school only 3 weeks when this accident occurred.  Taylor  seems to be adjusting well to vision with one eye, perhaps because he is young.

Taylor's friends know what happened and they don't laugh or pick on him at all.  He plays baseball but wears protective lenses.  He has a artificial eye that looks very natural and moves very well.

I enjoyed reading other peoples stories and it's comforting to know that I am not the only parent going thru this.

Thanks for the forum,

Michelle
